In May 2001 Prydwen Parry took the risk of changing her whole lifestyle and fullfilling a dream of running her own restaurant when she and her husband Emyr acquired Cleifiog Uchaf a once superior and charming Welsh longhouse in need of complete renovation.
After 7 years, much effort and financial investment the derelict property has been turned into what is now an enchanting country house with a unique ambience - providing an eclectic blend of ancient with modern and reviving the casual but elegant country house atmosphere, offering a choice of 8 individually designed bedrooms incorporating 2 suites, an intimate bistro-style restaurant as well as being an ideal meeting place for small conferences or groups seeking a quiet and relaxing venue.
Inspired and influenced over the years with vivid childhood memories, a deep appreciation of Anglesey's natural larder and rich culinary heritage - Prydwen who trained at the world famous Irish cookery school - Ballymaloe in Southern Ireland will use these traditional Welsh ingredients to create classic dishes with a modern twist in the restaurant at Cleifiog Uchaf.
